The four star inn, situated just outside Cirencester, has become a favourite festival shortbreaks bolthole since a major refurbishment programme was undertaken by owner Robert Jenkins, who acquired the then rundown property four years ago.

Today it has both four star AA and Quality in Tourism recognition, for quality accommodation and surroundings. The kitchen has also been developed by Robert's daughter, Elizabeth, a Pru Leith graduate who has just welcomed new head chef, Frenchman Damien Dupuis.

Robert Jenkins said: "Obviously ours is the countryside of the horse, with many trainers living within 15 miles of us. Our guests relish the opportunity to spend a great day at Cheltenham, then enjoy an evening in a quintessential inn, that is a real home from home".
